that’s what you should be getting if you have the fastest tier. speedtest.net is kind of choppy and shitty, though. try the tests at dslreports.com. also, verify your cable modem config file:
you could even have the case where the signal is too high, like if they put some kind of amplifier on your signal. plus you could have a problem with a splitter. have fun troubleshooting.

That was the case a few months ago, but got that fixed. This new intermittant problem just came up a few weeks ago.

look for something like this in the Logs menu:
DHCP: ACK: Setting (*) CM TFTP Boot file: d11_m_sb5120_speedtierextreme2_c01.cm
if it says speedtierexterme2 then you have the fastest possible provisioning. verify your signal levels using this FAQ:

Last night at 11:00 i got 1.5mb/250k.
This morning I got 22mb/2.5mb.
